If there was one main thing in this world that challenged my husband and I in that first year of marriage (and still does today!) it would be housework . . . freaking, annoying, unending housework.

We aren’t messy people, but who did what and when and how was the hot topic many days as we tried to figure out how to merge our lives together. Now we’ve been married two and a half years, and that stinking issue still remains.

It’s not that we haven’t made progress on our communication and expectations—we have! But we are wired differently in this area, so it will probably be a challenge for the long haul. And since this topic comes up regularly in circles of women I am in, from all ages and stages of life, I know it’s not just me. This is a struggle in many households between men and women.

In this quick video tip, I remind you of something I have learned in the last few years that has helped me—and my marriage—immensely around this issue.

    Hi Christy,

This is Lynn McIntosh and I live in Roswell Georgia. I really want to attend the conference this fall that you all are having. I have a temporary problem, though, I had my husband close our joint checking account about a month ago in front of me and I haven’t opened another new one yet. I am not sure if I am staying in this community or not, so I was waiting to look at banking options if I move. (Even as I just wrote that, it really doesn’t make sense to me now. Since interstate banking has been around quite awhile now! ha..but it will still take time to get a bank debit card, etc)

I have been to the website to try to get tickets but the only method I have to pay is an American Express and it won’t allow it.

What should I do in the meantime until I receive a new debit card, in order to hold a place for me to come?! I really want to do much.

I currently do not have a company but I do have a few ideas and want to go ahead and obtain a license as soon as possible from our courthouse here. This is all new for me, and I do not know what all I’ll need to establish a license, but will research about it today. I will go to the website again for more information also.

This looks awesome and exciting! I’m very happy for you and think the world of Dave, I don’t really know him, but it’s easy to think you do, he is so layed back. Also my older brother knows him, think they were in a small group together at one time.

Thank you again Christy, congratulations with your family company and this endeavor!

    Most sincerely,

    Lynn McIntosh

Wow, I struggle under the avalanche of housework my household provides daily but I can’t connect at all with perfection, I dropped that luxury years ago. I love all help and my husband is incredible and my oldest is starting to be able to help but I still feel totally overwhelmed by it a lot of the time. Is there anyone else in my shoes?
