Ep 3: How to Stop Feeling Guilty for Making Money

September 05, 2016 - 41:52

In this episode, I’ll talk about why some women struggle with the selling component of business. My dear friend, best-selling author Rabi Lapin, will stop by to show us the truth about the goodness of making money so that we can stop sabotaging our own profits.

We’ll also hear from photographer Alicia Jevahirjian, founder of Beba Photography. Alicia wanted to take her dream full-time but was afraid to raise her prices. She’ll talk us through her transition and why her customers followed her every step of the way.

Makes me cry! I started pursuing my biz idea a year ago and have been holding back a lot. I love the illustration of fear being like a shadow. Time to do it scared! Such a good podcast! Thank you!

Thank you so much for another stellar podcast! This one speaks to my heart. I LOVE absolutely LOVE photography and I always ALWAYS feel so guilty for charging for my work and time. After listening to this episode, I now feel confident that I’m not doing anything wrong receiving presidents faces for my work. I ordered the book Thou Shall Prosper, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for what you are doing! I’ve been told for years I’m a great cheerleader for other people, I want them to be successful but I never considered making that a business. I’m reading Thou Shall Prosper right now and just got your book. I’m going to go for it! I’m going to be a life coach. I want to help people to make and achieve their life goals.

  • Gayla Denniston says:

I’m just starting to listen to your Podcasts…I love hearing the success stories, your guest speakers and your amazing words of encouragement.
My dream is to market my parent’s sauces from their Mexican restaurant.
I’m staring with the Queso Dip and I have been researching and testing for a few years. I have a copacker ready for me. I’ve used my own money so far and would like to continue to do so. My next goal is raising funds to take the sauce to the copackers. I would love to hear from anyone that is on a similar journey.
I am so grateful for your Business Boutique Book. As of now you are a part of my journey in one day reaching my dream. Thank you!!!!

  • Julie Woods says:

    Hi Christy,
I am a little late on listening to this podcast because I just discovered your site this week! Thank you so much for your nuggets of wisdom and inspiring guests. This episode was so important for me to hear- I have grown up with a super creative mom and I would watch her pour so much time and energy into everything but sell herself short. To this day, she won’t charge for her creations, and she has missed that it is still blessing people, even if done as a business. I needed this reminder as I embark on my own journey! Thank you once again, you are fantastic! I also love your accent 🙂

  • Sharon says:

This podcast hit me right between the eye. Thank you so much. I have so many dreams and ideas that have to do with serving others but this is a roadblock for me.

  • Rohaya says:

Dear Christy, I really love this podcast and listen to it often. As Zig Ziglar said, ” Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the ‘gotta have it’ scale.” I am tired of hearing people who say bad things about people who have money. It is as if we have been stealing or cheating people to become wealthy. As if, if I didn’t work 60 hours weekly and I didn’t get stressed in the job, I am not deserving to be rich.
